Recent Recognition!

I've been blown away like a tumbleweed by the response to the public launch and to the work I've been doing on The Inbound Lands. I was recently awarded an Artist Residency at Wildacres Retreat specifically to work on the Forest Region of the Inbound Lands. Redesigned Train Car!

For those of you who've already visited with us before, The Inbound Lands has a brand new train car: we've gone through a site redesign to improve the atmosphere, appearance, and experience of the website. There's a lot of flexibility ahead which will allow me to include some pretty awesome new feelies, and pave the way to the launch of v0002, which adds improvements and gameplay elements... not to mention altering parts of the landscape in new and interesting ways after seeing the sands crossed by so many Beta-tester feet. But! v0001 is now open to all players, regardless of Beta status! Fair...

Hear the Train A-Comin’…

Dozens of footprints are crisscrossing the sands, but for those of you waiting at Powell Station for the full release, there's exciting news: For those of you following The Inbound Lands on Pinterest, you may have started to see more and more figures creeping into the images I'm choosing. There's been a lot of foot-traffic in The Inbound Lands Beta, and I'm responding to that in subtle ways. Future players may start to see evidence of other travelers soon, as well as ways to connect with others! Sandmaster!

On the surface, the desert is relatively quiet, but if you pay attention, there's all sorts of life: Beta testers have been exploring the world, reporting back from all corners of the initial tests. I've gotten some great responses so far from some very dedicated folks, and I'm immensely grateful, and looking forward to coding new areas. I've spent the past few days revising the source code to streamline environmental "effects," and I feel like the new King of Sand as a result!
